A Rainy Day in the City

Friday after breakfast (Weetabix and toast with black currant jam), Conner drove us to the Edenbridge Town Station where we caught a train to London Bridge Station. Even though it was "off-peak," the train was crowded as was the Tube. We made our way to Piccadilly Station in search of a bus map and eventually ended up at Victoria where we purchased Billy Elliot tickets and I finally acquired my bus map (three, actually). We then traveled by way of the District Line to Monument. By then it had started to rain and so we ate inside Pret and just visited St. Dunstan's. We walked to Lloyds and Leadenhall Market, caught a bus to St. Paul's and spent a warm and dry hour in Starbucks sipping hot chocolate and munching on our treats from Marks and Spencer's Simply Food. When the rain let up a bit we walked to Postman's Park and the Museum of London. We returned to St. Paul's for Evensong (which was beautiful) and then returned to London Bridge where our train was canceled. Conner got us home using other trains and we had a late supper at the Swan across the Road from Matt and Kim's.

Kris and Conner were in Lillywhite's

The warm and dry was too much for Rod

Shortly before we learned that our next two trains
had been cancelled

It was a great day in spite of the rain and we are headed back to London today for some time in the BYU neighborhood and Kensington. This afternoon we are going to Billy Elliot. Should be good and we will let you know. That, however, is all for now.

OXO
