A Bridge over the Eden River

Today we pretty much stayed close to home, washing clothes and shopping at the supermarket. For one who loves English goodies, the Co-op is heaven. We wanted one of everything! While we were in the village, we had a look around. Edenbridge is a charming place with a delightful old church that has been there almost 200 years in its present state, and dates back to the time of William the Conqueror (What's the date? Anyone? Anyone?) in 1066. The bridge over the Eden is new by comparison, but would be way-old in Orem or Spanish Fork.

This afternoon, we had a little ramble near the Boynton's house. The beauty of this place is hard to describe.

The Co-op is full of delicious goodies!!!

Too bad I'm not teaching about these puppies anymore
Because these are perfect examples of

 Late-medieval timber-frame houses

This one is interesting because of its clapboard siding

 I love the terra-cotta siding

 Fences and fields

 The misty days continue

Hedgerows are full of life

The ivy is doing its best to take over this tree

V&R headed for home

Tomorrow we head north and will not be posting for a few days, but will try to catch up when we return. So that's all for now and for a few more days.

OXO

It appears you are crutchless.

What a charming place. I think I will need to pull out a Jane Austen drama to watch to help alleviate this pang of envy.

Yes, I also noticed you were sans crutches. Excellent! I will be sad to not have you posting each day, makes work more enjoyable as I day dream of not being here. Have a lovely trip! Much love,
Katy Kathryn

Beautiful. Why doesn't America look like that? It's a shame.

Anna and Katy Kathryn:

I stashed the crutches for the photo, but I am still using them for long walks. They help, at least I think they do. The knee is feeling somewhat better, but still is not 100%. I have been able to go as long and hard as everyone else. In fact, your mother is having issues and not walking so well. It appears to be sciatica or something of the like. So the only one who is worth a pinch is Rod. I wonder what is going to happen to him. As he said, it is just a matter of time. He will probably look left when he should look right.(please picture a winking emoticon here)

As always, I have to post for-and-in-behalf-of your son...He is mightily envious of the food, thinks he should be there too, and wishes you all the best. I, on the other hand, think that a day in Marks and Spencer would do mom a world of good! :)
