Up to Town

In all the British period dramas they talk about going "to town," and town means London. So today, Monday 10 October, we came up to town. We bid the Marlpit-Hill Boyntons farewell and boarded the train for London Bridge Station. Not wanting to schlep luggage, we took a taxi to Notting Hill Gate where we checked in at our Airbnb. It is a delightful place three floors above the street, with a view to the west.  The building entrance is between McDonalds and Tesco (former Europa and Nisa), so we are in the center of our old stomping grounds; we feel right at home. We checked on trains, did a bit of shopping, and met Stephen and Ann back at the flat. We walked the neighborhood before supper, and now they are ready to crash.

Goodbye for now to these very generous, hospitable, and good kids

I tried to post this last night (Monday), but Blogger was not cooperating. We have theatre tickets tonight (Tuesday), so I may not get a chance to post today's adventures until tomorrow. This, then, is all for now.

OXO

I'm excited for your adventures. And so excited to see the "new" things you do. And I am so glad we got to go in June.
