York, Burton Agnes, Scarborough, Whitby, and Robin Hood's Bay

We spent Thursday morning, 30 June, in York. At the Minster we suffered our third disappointment when we found the nave filled with stadium seating and the crossing completely hidden by a stage, all part of a passion play. I was so miffed I asked for my money back and got it. Midday, we headed east to Burton Agnes, the ancestral home of the Boyntons. It is a nice house with garden, and it is always fun to see portraits that bear such a strong resemblance to our contemporary Boynton relatives. The kiddos were anxious to see a castle, so we stopped in Scarborough for a visit to the interesting castle ruin there. We visited Whitby Abbey before doubling back to Robin Hoods' Bay where we had excellent fish and chips for supper. Rob drove us southwest from Whitby to our Airbnb in York just in time for bed.

We paid to see these? I don't think so

A very fine day with good weather, and we were still on schedule even with an extra castle thrown in.

OXO

A very fine day. One correction: Anna discovered the ally. Not that it actually matters, but well, you know.
