4th of July 2013

It was a glorious Fourth, indeed. The kiddos went to the parade and watched in air-conditioned comfort from the Heirloom offices. At noon we went to the cabin for a pot-luck lunch. In the evening we moved to Steve and Tiffany's for water fun, visiting, supper, races, s'mores, Em's homemade ice cream, and fireworks. We missed Emily's pool, but the evening turned out very well. We could see fireworks all over the west part of the valley. We arrived home just in time to run to the park for a glimpse of the stadium fireworks.

Ready for the parade

Folks begin to gather on the deck of the cabin

George with some of the cousins

 Taylor girl cousins

 Grammy, Mabes, and Auntie Em

some of the DAT girlies with Mabes

Everyone appears to be having a good time

The Hastings boys with super soakers

 Pleasant in the shade

Don't let it dump you Opa!

 Supper time

 LJ and ATH

The Colvers and Youngs

S'mores

Anders does a number on his mother's head

Let the races begin

 foot racers

 Some sort of race

A side-step race for the ladies

The low 80s is a bit chilly

The sun was down and the fireworks began

 Fascinating

Uncle Pippy is the the fireworksmeister

The Colvers kept the kids supplied with sparklers

Anders with a couple of those sparklers

 Fireworks ripped the sky

 Popcorn!

It was a fun day and we did just fine without the pool. There is still more to post, but that's all for now.

OXO

I love the glorious 4th, but only when it is in Provo. Everywhere else just doesn't live up.
