The following morning we visited Fountains Abbey, the ruin of a Cistercian Abbey with a beautiful garden that connects with the formal garden at Studley Royal. We spent the afternoon in York visiting the Minster, the Shambles, and walking the walls. We then drove to the North Sea coast and spent the night in a former old mill at Boggle Hole.

We had a beautiful walk along the coast from Boggle Hole to Robin Hood's Bay which I will include in part II of this blog.

Oh my goodness. my heart is hurting I am soooo wishing I were there. In three years I am going back, no ifs, ands, or buts. It looks so fun. How great for Maren to get to do this with Gavin!
It ain't easy with kids, but they have been good and I believe M&G are having fun. Finn is also having a good time and soaking up the culture: he loves Jaffa Cakes, calls the tour bus a coach and corrects any who don't, and calls our place a flat. I believe she will blog profusely when she returns.

Nothings easy with kids, but thats neither here nor there, right? You did it with young kids and have good memories, mostly, right?
Dang tootin'! It was a delightful experience.
Beautiful, looks like a great time.
Is Fountains Abbey the one that you walk past the sheep and sort of down a hill, where the person we didn't know had a heart attack when we were there...or is it a different one?
