Summer Fun in Mytah

When Beck hears "Utah," he wonders, "Mytah?" So it seems that Beck and his family are spending some quality time in Mytah. There has been gobs of time with cousins playing, riding bikes, doing crafts, selling treats, and swimming at the "Provo Rec...reational Center," where Holden tells us, "there is a variety of things to do." The adults had the opportunity to hear Terryl and Fiona Givens speak and answer questions on Tuesday evening. They are bright, articulate, and faithful, and have a wonderful perspective on the church and where many of us hope it is headed. Today we bought Sensuous Sandwiches and headed to Sundance for a spectacular ride up the chair lift. We picnicked at Nunns Park on the way back to the valley.

Beck is having more fun than he handle

Ryan and Megan

Saturday 8 June, Ryan Boynton married Megan Anderson. The family gathered in the morning at the Provo Temple and afterwards moved to our chapel for a nice luncheon. Everyone pitched in to help and it was a nice event. That evening we drove south to Salem for the reception.

Provo to Mesa . . . on a Plane!

On Thursday 6 June I flew to Arizona to drive Maren and the boys to Utah. That's grand and all, but the exciting part was that Alegiant flies from PROVO!!! to MESA!!! Grandmother and the aunties flew up on the reverse flight. The skies were clear and the view all the way down I-15 and Highway 89 was spectacular.

Maren picked me up in Mesa and we drove to Tia Rosa's, of course. The trip preparations all went smoothly and Friday we headed north. Highway 89 between Bitter Springs and Page is closed because a land slide collapsed 500 yards of the road. Things are so unstable it will take years to make repairs. Consequently we drove up 89A which turned out to be a beautiful drive.

Grandmother and the aunties arrived in Provo

The trip was pleasant and we are ready for a fun month with kids while Gavin is in France and India. He will join us by the 4th of July. There are more adventures in the offing, but this is all for now.

P.S. Thanks to Maren for a few of her photos.
