The End of August in Santa Fe

We stayed with the Hastings kiddos while Anna and Rob took Lucy to Washington DC for her first year at The George Washington University. The Hastings are pretty well settled in their new home in the piñones-covered hills above Santa Fe. The home is beautiful and the stay was delightful. We experienced some serious monsoon rain that has made everything so verdant. We cooked, ran the school bus, and watched the kids take care of themselves. We were back in Provo just in time to spend a couple of days with Meagan who stayed at the house while we were gone and she consulted with the Provo School District.

The entry gate and path that leads to the...

 Portal and front door

Late afternoon sky through the piñones

 The back yard

WTH at work in the kitchen

 The sun-filled living room

 Alfresco supper when we arrived

Ebelskivers with chocolate added by the kiddos

 The first day of school

 Stuffed peppers went down well

Kris with the Talavera she loves so much

We have a tiny one of these monster boots

Clafoutis for French pastries: always a treat

Quintessential New Mexican ristra on the wall at Shake Foundation

A very diverse group of poses at The Shake Foundation

A beautiful Santa Fe sky for dessert

 A morning wandering Santa Fe

Typical Territorial-style window with Georgia O'Keeffe skulls

The Original Trading Post has been a Santa Fe fixture
since long before I first visited many years ago

These little hidden courtyards make Santa Fe charming

 Cathedral Park

The Loco Moco didn't go down so well

But dinner at Harry's Roadhouse went down a treat

 Pleasant weather for outdoor dining

 To the car and home

La Casita with Opa, Annie, and Meagan

Home again to some beautiful morning walks

Debby arrived in Utah just a few day after we did, so there will be more. This, however, is all for now.

OXO
