The Middle of May: A New Driveway

We didn't replace the driveway when we remodeled years ago, and we have been living with an increasingly rough bit of cement and shoveling mountains of snow to the front because there is nowhere to throw it. We have been dreaming of a new heated driveway for years, and in May it finally happened. 8 May was demolition day, 12 May was plumbing day, and on 15 May they poured cement. Mid May also included a visit from Conner and Bree, Group Dinner at Freestones, and some good walks with and without Evy.

The backhoe operator had a delicate touch

Easier than breaking it out by hand

About three loads of cement went to be recycled into gravel

 Nearly there

Rock Canyon Creek was running full and draining into
Rock Canyon Park

Katy wanted to see it, so I went again

Lovely where the creek enters the park bowl

 The water was freezing cold

A few day later, the project continued with access holes
to the cellar where the boiler will be installed

The plumbers laid mesh and tubing

8" on center means a nice warm driveay

 Phase 2  complete

A few days later, the cement arrived

Mike Terry is the one who did the cement work on the remodel

It goes in a few feet at a time

 Finished!

 NuSkin fountains were very exciting...

 ...And fun

There was still more excitement in May, but this is all for now.
