New Year 2017

New Years Eve was quiet with an early NYC bedtime. New Years day the family gathered for Sunday dinner with Matt and Kim's family. On 2 January, we held our traditional Greek dinner at the church. Later on in the week we celebrated Harry's 10th birthday with a soccer-themed party, again, at the church. On Sunday, 8 January, the Youngs headed back to Arizona and the house was quiet and lonely: that nasty empty house syndrome.

A game of Apples to Apples

A beauty treatment -- actually popping zits

 Soelbergs had New Year's fireworks

 Frosty New Year's morning walk

 Connor and the girlies

 The Marlpit Hill Boyntons

Kyle and Daniel with sticky toffee pudding

 OPA!

 Meags tickled Annie's fancy

 Delicious!

 Tweeners

 Adultos

 Opa and the binkers

 More adultos with young Evy

 The snow just kept coming

Maren's photo of me out pounding the snowy roads

 Gavin's mad decorating skills

Evelyn is intrigued by the soccer players

 Maren had something to say

 Evy kind of playing

Really playing but not understanding the rules

 Yummy Hawaiian haystacks

Meg regaled us with all kinds of opinions on movies

 Harry opening gifts

 Max's laser kept Evy entertained

Listening to Happy Birthday to You before killing the flames

Those piles make dandy snow forts

Beckham exulting after the big war

 Farewell sushi dinner at Asahi

A rainy Sunday departure as the "Pineapple Express" arrived

The house is empty: the shoes are gone -- sigh

It is always wonderful to have the house full of family, but now life will be quite dull until next week when we fly off to visit Debby in Texas. So there will be more, but this is all for now.

OXO

D.

Glad you get a trip to help recover from empty housing. And that snow fort picture reminded me of just how great childhood and winter are.
