Saturday morning we cleaned up our space, bid Grandmother farewell, and headed back to Peoria, arriving just as the last soccer game of the day finished. Since it was Halloween, Maren made cupcakes for us to decorate and served a delicious dinner prior to trick-or-treating. Sunday, we packed a picnic lunch and headed to Lake Pleasant, north of Peoria. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the lake and the Roadrunner Trail. That evening we drove down to Glendale for supper at Haus Murphy's, a good German restaurant with an unlikely Irish name. It was a pleasant evening so we ate outside in their biergarten. Monday, we headed home with a stop in Kanab at the Trail's End, highly recommended by Rod. They have one of the best chicken-fried steaks I have ever eaten.
