Today we had another four-wheeler adventure. Uncle, J Wayne, his friend Jan Anderson, and I met in Santaquin and headed for Mona. We unloaded the the four wheelers and proceeded up the Mona Pole Road into the canyon of the same name. The road leads around the base of Mount Nebo, and it was a very steep climb at the outset, with a very rough trail. It is late fall and the colors are subtle and subdued, but beautiful, nonetheless. We followed the road all the way to the Nebo Loop road, then returned to the base after a pleasant lunch at trail's end. Jan treated us to Ice cream at the Red Barn, just south of Santaquin. This evening the trick-or-treaters arrived.
We started at the foot of Mount Nebo, northeast of Mona
The vehicle, clean and dust-free
We climbed until we reached the pine forest
And the aspens beyond
Beautiful in late fall
J Wayne, Uncle, and Jan
The sun brought color to life
An old mine road with Nebo in the distance
Frozen stream
The color is mellow and beautiful (that is Timp
center rear in the far distance)
We circled clear around to the back side of Nebo
Waiting for the others to catch up
Lunch al fresco
Our lunch view
A tiny gem of a lake just off the road
The last remnants of fall
The steep drop back to base
Ice cream at the Red Barn
Pumpkins galore
Jack-o-lantern
Halloween sunset
A wonderful Halloween by any standard! That's all for now.
OXO
