Back to Country Life

Friday, we breakfasted, packed, cleaned, and headed to Notting Hill Gate Station to begin our journey back to Edenbridge. We decided it would not be worth it to buy a Travelcard for a partial day and spend a few more hours in London, so we purchased a single journey ticket. Well it turns out a Travelcard for a whole day with six zones of unlimited travel is only a couple of Pounds more than a single ticket. Who knew. The Travel card is a great deal. Nevertheless, we headed back to Kent. It turned out to be fortuitous because Kim had to go to the hospital to see if she has a clot. Matt was not available and Conner was driving her, so when we showed up early, they were relieved. Grammy jumped right in with the baby and away Kim and Conner went. By supper time nobody had returned, so I walked into the village for some excellent fish and chips. We decided you couldn't have too many because the ones we get in the states, even at best, are a poor substitute for the real thing.

We were happy to see Natalia as we left the Centre

The new Circle-Line trains are completely open from end to end
with accordion couplings like the bendy buses

Kris watching for our platform to be posted at London Bridge Station

The ticket office is right across from the entrance to the Shard

 Grammy back on the job

 Marino's made supper for us

These were just as they should be

We will be close to home for a while, but if anything happens I will post.

That's all for now.

OXO

D.

Sounds like it's a good thing you're there. Those fish and chips look delightful.
