Memorial Day Weekend

Hank and Colette are at their cabin and we met for dinner and a movie on Thursday, 23 May. Dinner at La Casita was grand, as always, but the movie, The Great Gatsby, was just south of OK. The company, however, was great and made for a good evening. Today, 27 May, was Memorial Day. Everyone met here at the house before heading to the cemetery where we were regaled with tales of the ancestors. We regrouped at Hank and Colette's cabin for lunch and lots of good visiting. The day was beautiful and pleasant and we had a great time.

We returned from TX to find Utah at its best

The campus redo continues: new utility tunnels going in

 Happy eaters at La Casita

Kris looks pretty happy considering how much she
hates the story of The Great Gatsby

This bit of serendipity put the final seal of approval on the evening

Katy Kathryn captured this fashion faux pas
on Sunday evening

The Taylors and Ensigns begin to gather

A floral offering for the ancestors

 First arrivals at the cemetery

 The fourth generation: the greats

 The third generation: the grands

 The second generation

 Hank telling Henry-and-Alta stories

Millie recounting how she and Anna sang to keep Uncle
Tony awake on a long-ago Indian trip

 Shade AND a rock: kismet!

 Spring chickens!

 Let the feeding frenzy begin

 A full deck

 It was a beautiful day

Hank unwrapping the new sculpture for "The House at Pooh Corner"

The piece was commissioned by Brigham

We missed the Youngs and the Hastings very much. That's all for now.

OXO

Oh how I wish I could have been there. And in the fashion faux pas, I think mom makes up for it with her cute green outfit. And I love that you all told stories at the cemetary, but I hate that I missed it. And the canyon...oh the canyon....sad times. And some of the younger crew are teens and pre teens and it is freaking me out.
