A Celebration in Okingwoodo

On Friday, 16 November we awakened in the middle of the night for our flight to Houston for Alison Gibb's wedding. It was delightful to spend time with the extended Gibbs family. Landing at Houston Hobby, we picked up our little rental car and made our way to the Hobbit Cafe for lunch. Heading north to Kingwood, we checked into our hotel and rested before driving deep into the "Livable Forest" to Debby's house. The entry sign in Kingwood is decked out for Christmas and the wreaths turned Kingwood into Okingwoodo (we pronounced it aw-king-WOOD-o), which we called it for the duration of our stay. Friday evening, Debby stuffed us with Texas barbeque.

Saturday we drove to the temple for the sealing. A lovely wedding luncheon followed at Raffa's, a very nice restaurant on Lake Houston in Okingwoodo. The reception followed and all was wrapped up by 4:00 P.M. Several of us spent the evening viewing Lincoln at the local movieplex.

Sunday we went to Debby's ward and then returned home to prepare a pot-roast dinner for about 24. There were also a few games of hearts before Michael took off for NY.

Monday we went to see Argo before heading to the airport to return the car and fly home via Las Vegas.

This was a great weekend filled with wonderful food, friends, and films. Now we are off to Reno for Thanksgiving and we will let you know what happens, but that's all for now.

Very few complaints about either film, lovely weather, unbeatable company, teriff wedding. It was a lovely weekend, only wish Daniel could have been there. "Has anyone seen my fiance? The poor baby.."

It looks delightful, I do rather enjoy Houston. Much love to the Hobbit Cafe. Lincoln was indeed smashing and I'm anxious to see Argo. Allison makes a lovely bride.
