Yipes! Skypes!

A couple of months ago, I received an invitation to download Skype via email from someone I didn't know. Yesterday while talking to Debby about her lighting fixture selection over the phone, she said, "If you had Skype I could walk you through (the remodel of her bathroom)." Katy and I decided we would download Skype and see how it works. Turns out that it works great: Katy and I had an extended chat as well as a tour of Deb's remodel. I sent invitations to Maren in Phoenix and Anna in Virginia. Anna downloaded the application and we had a two-hour chat with her and the kids (and eventually Rob when he returned from work). Alas, Maren has neither a Mac nor a webcam, so we will have to settle for the telephone with her. It is great fun and will be yet another way to keep in touch.

All the Hasting except for Rob, live from VA

That's all for now.

OXO

I've been meaning to do it, too. Guess it's time to move into the 21st Century!

I keep hearing that it's amazing...especially since I seem to run out of minutes more often than I should. Perhaps I'll give it a shot, too.

It was great. I HATE talking on the phone most of the time (as do most of us with Taylor DNA) so this is fab. And Maren, it's time to get a mac!!!

Agreed to what Anna said. What is it about being on the phone? I would rather be in a dentists office than talk on the phone!! Thank you again for mentioning me by name :) It really is so refreshing and makes your posts that much more interesting! I love skype and look forward to skyping with Anna and the Babbies! MWA!

Maren, there is hope. You don't have to have a mac or even a web cam. You can still skype. It won't be quite as exciting, but you can still do it. You will be able to see and hear anyone who does have a camera but they will only be able to hear you. It would be fun for you and the boys to be able to see Chris and David and who ever else is there. If you want you can also buy a little camera separately. When Ian goes out of town we did this sort of one way image skype and now he takes a little camera with him so we can see each other. There are some pretty inexpensive options out there. You should look into it. No need to be left out of the skype craze. We love it!
