The First Half of June

Way back on Friday, 5 June, the uncles-dinner group joined Rod and Vic for supper at Terra Mia, a new Italian restaurant in Orem (next to the new Cinemark and 5 Guys). The pizza was really good, and they have tasty gelato.

On Monday, the Timp-Lodge "group" held its first summer picnic at a park next to the Provo River. The Boyntons are traveling, the Christophersons are in Brazil, and Phil was taking care of a sick baby. Otherwise, everyone was there, including some of the 2nd and 3rd generation.

Early June also saw the completion of the chicken coop at Millie's. There are now chickens in the coop and as soon as they mature, there most certainly should be eggs. Ain't we got fun?

In case you were unaware, June in Utah has been very wet, cold, and rainy. It must be one of the wettest Junes in a very long time. It is the kind of weather I love as does Katy Kathryn. So everything is copacetic in the weather department.

Yesterday, Sunday, the family gathered for Sunday dinner and we celebrated Rob's birthday. You can't put anything over on the children and they noticed there were only 17 candles, which they were sure, was quite short of the accurate number.

Clara won't pass up a chance to blow out candles

After dinner when all the parents had left, Katy hosted a fantastic sleepover for all of the binkers who are in the area (Ollie and Meg are in Hawaii, and Finn and Harry are in Arizona). They watched Willow, read stories, laughed, shouted, and slept. We pushed back all the furniture so they could watch movies and sleep on an enormous sea of inflatable mattresses. This morning I made a HUGE batch of pancakes, which they devoured. The morning was spent playing at the park and making s'mores in the microwave. Katy and I just returned from SLC where we dropped the Hastings kids.

They finished the movie at midnight and still
managed eight hours of sleep

The pancakes are almost ready

Voila

The happy sleepover crew - nice work

June has been a good month so far, but that's all for now.

OXO

My kids did too. They loved it. And that picture of Katy on the porch with the kids is funny. Katy looks like a small person.

The sleepover looks like a lot of fun, I wish I had an I-pod touch, Happy Birthday to Rob, and I wish we could join in one of the picnics this year!
PS our June has been relativy cool also, It cools down at night enough
to go out and enjoy the weather!

Looks very busy and like much fun. I am afraid, however, that this must be all-out war for title of most fun auntie. Katy has most certainly raised the bar...darn her.
