M'orial Day Weekend

Friday, 23 May, we had dinner with the study abroad directors group at the Barton's house. We had a great Mexican nosh and we made some flan (really pudim de leite). It was fun to be together again around the table.

Saturday, 24 May, Emily, Jayson, and the kids came by on their bikes. It is their "summer of the bike." Anna and Rob brought their binkers by while they went to P712 for an adult evening. We had great fun.

Sunday, 25 May, we went to SLC for the farewell of one of our study abroad students. It was good to see them again. Afterwards we went to Taylorsville and spent the afternoon prior to Sunday dinner. That was provided by the Hastings and prepared by Anna. She made Annemarie's tortilla soup, which was delicious.

Yesterday, Monday, 26 May, we gathered with all the Taylor cousins for a visit to the cemetery, where we decorated some graves (I remember when it was called Decoration Day) and visited some of the older ancestors graves as well (sans fleurs). Because it was so cold and rainy, we didn't go to the cabin, nor were we able to swim at Em's. So we ate and hung out here at our house.

We finished the weekend with a viewing of the new Indiana Jones movie, which was OK. It was a little difficult for me to suspend disbelief.

Thanks for all of the great photos! So much to comment on, but let me just focus on a big congrats to the Ensigns on their summer of the bike!

Beautiful photos. I think in the farewell shot I spied Maren Rytting, I taught her for 3 years in a row, first as her Valient teacher in primary and then her Beehive advisor. Isn't it such a small world?

Even with bad weather it looks like you had fun! Is that your kitchen or Emily's? It's beautiful. I wish we were closer so we could see you all more often. I know blogging keeps you closer, but it also makes me sad to see all the fun I am missing, and how all the kids are growing!

love you all!

Dave & Kris (ou seria presunçoso-my new word for the day- dizer Dickie e Krissie) Gostei dos fotos.

Kari's number is 362-7771. I think they would love to come to the next pique-nique. AS A MATTER OF FACT WE WOULD LOVE TO COME. That is if we weren't having so much fun.

Abraços a todos
