Yesterday, Saturday, we spent finishing up the Christmas-shopping list. We started on Portobello Road and then took a bus straight to Oxford Street. The bus only went as far as Marble Arch because of VIP (very important pedestrians) Saturday; Oxford Street was closed to all vehicles and reserved for pedestrians the entire day. That seems to be a new activity in London on the 1st of December. It was lively and fun with performers of all sorts and streets filled with happy shoppers.

Follow the fingers to good Scottish shopping

Primark was a madhouse -- Katy had to wait in
line for 30 minutes to get a dressing room

Katy and Kris are ready to press into the masses on Oxford Street

Can't you just smell the fire and roasted chestnuts? --
they were delicious

A very cheery guy was passing out Lindor balls to passersby
in front of the GAP

One of the highlights was an Indian pipe band

The Salvation Army band was playing early on,
followed by this brass band sponsored by M&S
It was a surprisingly fun day. We finished it off with dinner at Wagamama.
Today is Sunday and there is nothing unusual to report. I will keep you posted about next weeks adventures, whatever they be.
OXO

It looks like alot of fun! I am so glad you ate some chestnuts for me!
PS did Kelsey ever come to London?
Sounds super fun!
Fun! I really liked Wagamama. I wish I were there again. We watched the Holiday last night and I really like England.
Hilary helped me find the D. Gibbs and sons picture and accompanying post. Love it! The picture of David in front of Pret made me wonder about the beloved Coronation Chicken Sandwich and if it has returned. We have counted at least 3 very cute coats on Katie in the pictures. Are there more? Where these England purchases? Shop on in my name!
Very festive. Very fun. Wish I was there!
It looks like a fabulous shopping trip. I too am guilty...Like Debby, I have not only been looking at the grand sights in your photos but Katy K's wardrobe. Not only have I seen the cute coats...but some straight legged, maybe even skinny legged jeans. If you wouldn't mind passing this on to Katy that I do remember her wondering if she could ever do the straight leg...I guess the answer is yes. Good for her.
Maren: where have you been? Yes, Kelsey came for a very quick Thanksgiving trip.
Deb: The Coronation Chicken "is finished." I am not sure of the exact number of coats. What you are seeing are London purchases.
Millie: Those are skinny jeans and as you can see they work just fine on her skinny legs. They cost less money than dirt at Primark, so there are a few new pairs. Actually there are two in the brown bag in the photos.
I do not recall any posts with pictures or anything saying she was there. Did I miss something?
No Maren you did not. There has been absolutely no mention of Kelsey anywhere on anyones blog.
Not my fault. Kelsey was out and gone racing around seeing stuff, so she doesn't appear in my photos.

Thats fine, I just thought I had missed a post or something and I would HATE to do that!
Paia or Paya or however the heck you spell it,
I need you and mom to check your emails (mom's is her gmail one) and respond about Lu's baptism because I need to turn in the program, asap...
thanks...
Thanks for the info on Kit's wardrobe. Simply fab. Who would a thunk it'd be cheaper to shop in London.
