The Full Taylor
Our friend and former neighbor, Marcie Jones, contemplating a remodel of her house in our neighborhood (actually across the street from Phil and Meagan's house), discussed possibilities for the remodel with Emily. She was conflicted about whether to really tear into it, dig a basement and do a thorough remodel, or just push out the back. She said, "I don't know if we should just add on the back or do a 'Full Taylor'," referring to our major project as well as Tom and Katy's demolition and rebuild.
So, for Father's Day Emily and Jayson made me a DVD of the "Full Taylor." It is spectacular, with a start-to-finish montage of the demolition and construction of our house as well as a very impressive before-and-after sequence of the interior and exterior views. I was most pleased and grateful!
Thanks to Emily for creating and adding the YouTube video; that was a great boon to a technologically-challenged fogey!
I don't know who to congratulate more, the Ensigns or the Taylors. What a fantastic, irreplaceable gift. The kind of gift you would never expect but always be glad to have.
And to Dave and Kris, the 'before' picture just made me think, "someone needs to fix that dump up." The 'after' picture is a breath of fresh air.
Thanks so much for actually posting the video. Dang y'all! HGTV or DIY may be looking for some new producers.
I have to know, who chose Eric Johnson for the music? I love you both (Em and Jayson), but I love who ever chose that song for this 10 times more than before! What a perfect choice.
So very, very nicely done. It must also be emotionally therapeutic for the Dickie Units to get to see the whole process in one, triumphant arch.
Excellent work, Em. Your appreciation of Eric Johnson's fine work has raised your emotional capital with me to an even higher level. And the way you followed his dynamics in the arrangement of the images . . .

Well I am glad you liked the DVD. It is hard to find a gift for the man who wants nothing!
Emily, thank you for commenting!

You need another after with your stone path. But it really is amazing how good it looks.
That is super cool! Well done Em and Mom and Dad. The house and the dvd are both quite impressive.
Holy Friggin' Crappanolies!

The movie made me more homesick then anything else so far. I started to cry...lol...good work Em.
It was me who chose the music. I am sorry to make you cry Maren!
Very cool. Love the video. Love the house! Great work all around!
