Scout Falls and More

The rained-out hike of Wednesday the 8th was rescheduled for Saturday 11 July. We traveled back up Timpanogos to the Timpooneke Trail Head. (Interestingly, everyone pronounces it Tim-pan-ookie, but I have learned after nearly seven decades, that is wrong.) Our destination was Scout Falls. The hike was beautiful, but slightly crowded, being a Saturday and all. That evening we had the whole family for burgers, potato salad, and baked beans. Uncle's family joined us for this last fling before the Hastings headed back to Reno. After dinner, the gang finished Max's food tour with a stop at Sodalicious on one last canal walk.

This was another great day. It was a fun and exciting month, but Sunday morning, the Hastings headed home to Reno and we were left with a very quiet and lonely house. Sadly, that's all for now.

Friday Fun

On Friday 10 July, the gang all went to see the Minions movie. That evening we had dinner with the Dinner Group at Christopherson's. Stan and Sharon Miller are recently returned from Hungary and it was good to see them. Allen and Nancy Ostergar told us that they have been called to be Presidents of the Provo City Center Temple. That is great news because I feel a connection to that building and I feel a connection to them as well.

There is still more to report, but that's all for now.

Hogle Zoo, Food Truck Roundup, and Gale-Force Winds

On Thursday 9 July we made a pilgrimage to Hogle Zoo by way of Les Schwab Tires, where they had buy-one-get-one-free coupons for admission. That evening, we were excused from SNAP and went with the family to the Food Truck Roundup for supper. It was tasty fare, at least my killer grilled-cheese sandwich was. Later in the evening we walked the canal just as HUGE winds began to kick in. We dashed to avoid having large limbs fall on our head and the girls became quite frenetic in their attempts to avoid danger and reach home.

Not a Complete Waste

On Wednesday 8 July, we made an attempt at a hike up the Timpooneke trail on the backside of Mount Timpanogos. It was, however, a rainy morning and we simply enjoyed the incredible beauty of the Alpine Loop in the rain instead of hiking.

Glorious wild flowers in the rain

This turned out be a real sensory treat in spite of the weather; maybe because of the weather. That's all for now.
