Indian Nosh-Up

The Youngs' visit to Provo wouldn't be complete without a delicious Indian nosh-up at Bombay House. Phillip and family were on their way south for Meagan's cousin's wedding. The Hawaii Temple is closed, so why not choose the Las Vegas Temple? Anna and family were on their way south to meet Rob's family for a weekend of fun at Zion National Park. So it was just us, the Ensigns, and the Youngs. Did I say "just?" We filled their biggest table!

Today is the Youngs' last full day in Utah and we have some fun activities planned. We will keep you posted.

Communal

This evening the family met at Communal, Colton's new restaurant in downtown Provo. They have refurbished the old building on the corner of University and 100 North - it was recently the Crazy Canuck. It is now a beautiful space. The food is delicious and next time I will know better how to pace myself and what to order. I loved the tomato bread pudding, the potatoes gratin, and the fresh tomato salad. They bake their delicious bread at P712. It was a most pleasant evening, but we missed Meagan and the Hastings.

Weenie Roast

Monday evening the troops gathered for a hot dog roast. It was the second time we have used our fire pit and all went swimmingly. We were joined by the Soelbergs and the Tom and Katy Taylors. Phillip and family have returned from Disneyland and were with us, but we missed the Hastings. Everyone brought something to share and we were well fed. The good times just keep rolling.

Cornbelly's

Saturday morning we made the usual pilgrimage to Costco and Harmon's before setting for Cornbelly's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Festival at Thanksgiving Point. It was great fun and all the family, including Millie, except for Philly (who was at Disneyland with his family) was there.

More Park Time

Friday afternoon the Hastings cousins came from SLC to see their AZ cousins. We spent the afternoon in park and then had hamburgers from Chadders for supper.

A Fall Visit

Maren, Gavin, Finn, and Harry have left Arizona for a few days. Finn's school has a one week fall break and the Youngs decided to come north for some real fall weather. Quite coincidentally, fall arrived in earnest just a couple of days ago. Temperatures took a sudden drop from the 80s to the 60s. Overnight temperatures have been at freezing or below and the "frost is on the pumkin." Timp has her first dusting of snow and the grass is covered with Jack Frost's handiwork. We are happy to have the Youngs here and equally happy that Mother Nature is cooperating with crisp fall weather. They arrived last night (Thursday, 1 October) and will be here through next week.

There will certainly be more adventures to follow and we will keep you posted.
